Elvis Presley's Elvis at Stax is a limited edition of 2,500 individually numbered copies pressed on silver 180-gram audiophile vinyl, remastered from the original master tapes and featuring newly mixed outtakes.
Following the massive success of Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite in early 1973, Elvis returned to his roots for his next studio sessions, recording at the legendary Stax Studios in Memphis. Though Stax was home to soul and R&B royalty, the studio welcomed the King for two sessions in July and December of that year. The result was some of his most enduring late-career material, including "It's Midnight" and Chuck Berry's "Promised Land." This two-LP compilation gathers the finest recordings from those sessions.
For collectors, an encapsulated pressing of this title offers something a loose copy never can: a permanently sealed artifact that preserves the record exactly as it left the source, making it a true time capsule of one of rock and roll history's most storied recording locations.
